According to Eraser's website, "Eraser is an advanced security tool for Windows which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns. Works with Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008." This is a free, open source application which means you are free to use the software however you like. Eraser can be used to permanently delete files, folders, or all the unused space on your drive (previously deleted files). This program can be used on-demand or scheduled to run on specific locations on your drive.
